Healthcare Technology and News: Japan Takes Interest in GeckoSystems' Elder Care Robot Solutions

Robots taking care of the elderly members in the family or keeping the little ones busy while parents are away are no longer the bedtime stories of fantasy books.

With such companies as GeckoSystems International in the world, household robots have become a reality in large parts of the United States. Some 12 years back, the company introduced its series of personal robots--- GeckoNav, GeckoChat and GeckoTrak.

The Company's “mobile robot solutions for safety, security and service” are appropriate not only for the individual consumers, including elderly, chronically ill and children, but also ideal for professional healthcare, commercial security and defense markets.

With a successful consumer feedback under its belt, GeckoSystems’ mobile robot solution is expected to travel across the Pacific and reach  the Land of Rising Sun to offer a helping hand in solving Japan’s growing elder care crisis.

GeckoSystems Intl. Corp. has been holding discussion with the Japanese Export Trade Organization and a major Japanese mobile service robot developer, tmsuk Company, Ltd. regarding Japan’s interests in collaborating with GeckoSystems for using their “Mobile Robot Solutions for Safety, Security, and Service” for manufacturing and distribution in Japan.

“In my meeting with JETRO on Feb. 23, I essentially explained GeckoSystems' business model, their many proprietary, beneficial and cost effective mobile robot solutions, and their criteria for selecting a Japanese business partner. While I was pleased with their time and attention, I am now waiting for some sort of feedback from JETRO Japan through their San Francisco office. I believe it may take at least a few weeks for us to get some sort of response back from Japan. Since I am planning to be in Tokyo from Mar. 29-31, I wish to visit JETRO's world headquarters at that time,” Hajime Yasumatsu, GeckoSystems’ Japanese representative said. “Besides our ongoing discussions with JETRO, I am visiting tmsuk Company, Ltd. in Fukuoka, Japan on Mar. 26, and I will ask them how receptive they are to some sort of business cooperation with GeckoSystems in the future. They are very focused on cost effective health care delivery using mobile robots.”

Naturally, the manufacturers of CareBot are excited.

“As all of us here at GeckoSystems are excited about this development, due to the growing substance of these past and future discussions, I feel it is in the best interest of all parties to reveal the present status of this continuing, if not heightened, interest in GeckoSystems by not only the Japanese government, JETRO, but also one of their most advanced mobile robot companies, tmsuk Co., Ltd.,” said Martin Spencer, President/CEO of GeckoSystems, in a statement. “The upcoming meetings and the potential outcome(s) of them have been in the works for several years and is now coming to what looks to be an extraordinarily profitable culmination. I believe their interest in us is due to not only our flagship product, the automatic self navigation software, GeckoNav, but also the reality that we have a complete multitasking personal robot, the CareBot, with verbal interaction capabilities, GeckoChat and the ability to routinely follow a designated family member with GeckoTrak.”
