Healthcare Technology and News: Medical Division Adds New Features to Online Radiology Services

CAD/CAM Medical, or “CCM,” a division of CAD/CAM Services, Inc. that provides interface services for medical interpretational reporting on radiology examination, will add a number of enhanced features and updates to its web-based service named Radiology Services Online.

The service is an “all-in-one,” easy-to-access web-hosted image and records management solution that offers a comprehensive range of useful features to radiology providers. With the help of the solution, radiology providers are able to maintain and track patient information, maintain digital and digitized images, create and issue radiology reports, and manage and maintain service billing.

Various new features that have been added to the Radiology Services Online include an enhanced web-based Dicom image viewer that is available to any user in the system that has been granted access to view images. Additionally, an online schedule and dispatch management feature enables online ordering of services, and utilizes both online work study for overview of workloads and electronic messaging to staff for notification of pending exams.

Maximizing the usability, the company has also introduced a new feature named Automatic Faxing, which automatically sends final reports via online electronic faxing, while the facilities can also review, print, electronically export and store images and reports as needed, through the newly added 24-hour online image and report availability.

Radiology Services Online now also offers added support to radiologists in utilizing several easy options for report creation through its transcription feature. It helps them in using their existing voice dictation product to provide the text for the reports, filling in the text boxes using the system’s common normal/abnormal findings, and adding any extra verbiage needed.

What’s more, the feature helps them in voice dictating and having their transcriber log in to type the findings. The users can also use their own dictation product and transcriber and simply send the final report to the Radiology Services Online service as a pdf file.

With the help of the new Billing services that incorporates an easy-to-use invoicing system, the users get a pay-per-service invoicing option within the Radiology Services Online system itself. Further, the system leverages a Medicare/Medicaid billing assistance feature to provide the needed information for billing agents to process exams for payment.

CAD/CAM Medical has provided these added features at no additional cost to fulfill its commitment to provide its users with upgrades, development, and maintenance of the Radiology Services Online system.

According to Scott Shuppert, president and founder of CAD/CAM Medical, the company created Radiology Services Online as an easy and secure way for storing and managing Dicom files and patient data records. Shuppert continued that with its user-friendly applications, broad access solutions, and professional personal customer service, CAD/CAM Medical offers quality, competitive pricing and the technical know-how to be a one source solution provider for all electronic image storage needs.

Recently, Cimatron Ltd., a provider of integrated CAD/CAM solutions for the toolmaking and manufacturing industries, had announced that Gibbs and Associates, its developer of GibbsCAM software for programming CNC machine tools had begun shipping GibbsCAM 2010, which included multiple new features, additions, enhancements, and productivity tools.
