KLAS Awards: Software & Services Report Ranks VCS and maxIT Healthcare in Top 10 for 2012

The annual report published by KLAS Awards: Software & Services is intended to highlight and encourage technology healthcare providers. The vendor performance of the organizations is measured independently to provide information that will benefit other vendors, partners, consultants and investors. In 2012, Vitalize Consulting Solutions (VCS) was ranked fourth and maxIT Healthcare was ranked seventh in the Overall Services Firms category.

Both companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a scientific, engineering and technology applications company with deep knowledge used by the intelligence community, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and other government and enterprises around the world.

The KLAS report also ranked maxIT Healthcare in its new ICD-10 Consulting category fourth out of only six companies that qualified with KLAS Konfidence. They also ranked high in the Clinical Implementation Principal and the Planning and Assessment Category.

The overall rating of the performance of a vendor is calculated from a number of questions for each category. The answer to each question is given a yes or no answer where applicable and a rating system from one to nine which describes the level of satisfaction with the vendor. The total score for each category is based on a 100-point scale and each question is weighted equally.

The acquisition of maxIT Healthcare by SAIC has helped both companies increase their profile in their respective sectors. By bringing maxIT under its umbrella, SAIC increased its presence in the electronic health record (HER) implementation and integration services. This will help the company in its Federal healthcare customer base as the government moves to commercial off the shelf EHR platforms.

“The Best in KLAS report is an excellent benchmark for the industry, and we are pleased that our customers have rated us highly once again. We will use the data in the report to work with our customers even more going forward to ensure the solutions and services we provide are helping them achieve their goals of improving patient care and reducing costs,” said Steve Comber, SAIC Health Solutions Business Unit general manager.
