MedApps Technology Chosen by VRI for Use in Remote Health Monitoring

MedApps, Inc., a provider of mobile/remote health monitoring (mHealth) solutions, has announced that it will work with Valued Relationships, Inc. (VRI), a provider of in-home health monitoring solutions in the United States to help VRI extend its home health program to monitor clients with chronic disease, according to a company press release posted at prnewswire.com.

VRI will use MedApps® HealthPAL™ technology to run its 3,000 mobile remote health monitoring devices that will be deployed across the United States, according to the release.  Future deployments will use MedApps’ technology currently in development HealthAIR™, according to the press release.  “Both devices operate on the MedApps CloudCare™ platform to provide a user-centric remote patient monitoring solution,” the press release explains.

MedApps HealthPal is used for remote patient monitoring to allow healthcare providers to track and stay abreast of what’s happening to patients once they leave the hospital or doctor’s office. HealthAIR will allow patients to buy off-the-shelf devices, then fit them with a small adapter to allow the device to transmit readings to electronic health records (EHRs).

"We think VRI's ability to monitor the daily vital signs of patients with conditions like diabetes, hypertension and congestive heart failure will be enhanced with the MedApps System," said Kent Dicks, CEO and founder of MedApps in the press release.  "Our CloudCare platform is designed to provide the ultimate in ease of installation, configuration and maintenance to take the focus off the technology and put it back on the patients and care providers.  This is a perfect alignment with VRI's goal of increasing patient awareness and empowering them to be more involved in their own care management and improve their health situation."

"The MedApps team shares our dedication to explore leading edge technology to provide quality care solutions to people living with chronic disease," said Andy Schoonover, CEO of VRI, in the press release. "We both know and believe in the benefits of remote monitoring, and we both understand the obstacles that have made widespread adoption a challenge - cost, complexity and compliance. We think the MedApps solution goes a long way in addressing these issues today. We are proud to add the MedApps System to our portfolio of integrated products and services."
