Healthcare Technology and News: Authentidate's Inscrybe Healthcare Chosen by Ritecare Medical Products

Ritecare Medical Products has selected the Inscrybe Healthcare referral management solution from Authentidate to improve its processes.

Inscrybe Healthcare enables healthcare organizations to easily exchange, electronically sign, or update time-sensitive information. The service goes beyond simple information exchanges and supports complex clinical and administrative workflows. Inscrybe adheres to the specifications for certified health information exchanges.

Inscrybe was chosen by Ritecare because of its proven ability to standardize and automate the manual tasks associated with the processing of referrals for home medical equipment providers. With a full range of medical equipment and supplies, Ritecare has provided affordable quality solutions for all of one's home healthcare needs. The company recently noticed that they were spending significant amounts of time and effort obtaining physician signatures to approve referrals and related documentation.

“We welcome Ritecare to the growing Inscrybe community of homecare organizations,” stated Marcus Wagstaff, National Sales Director for Authentidate in a company press release. “Inscrybe is designed to enhance referral management, which makes it uniquely suited to meet Ritecare's needs for streamlining referral processing with referring physicians while providing Ritecare with improved management controls.”

By offering Ritecare’s referring physicians various communications options, including secure electronic signature and scheduled fax delivery, depending on their preferences, Inscrybe will enable the company to enhance its customer service. Apart from improving its ability to manage the process, Ritecare is also looking to shorten its current referral approval cycle. Inscrybe also offers Ritecare with a scalable solution as its business grows, the company stated.

In June 2007, the company entered into an agreement with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to become a non-exclusive authorized service provider of the USPS Electronic Postmark (EPM). With Authentidate, USPS would help ensure performance standards and facilitate the potential for enabling multiple service providers. Under this new framework, the USPS would license the necessary trademarks and intellectual property to potential authorized providers, the company stated in a press release.
