Medidata Solutions to Acquire Clinical Force
Medidata Solutions has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Clinical Force, a pioneer in providing SaaS-based clinical trial management systems (CTMS).
Based in the UK, with customers in North America, Europe and India including more than a dozen CROs, Clinical Force has successfully helped its customers readily adopt CTMS with a low-risk solution that is quick-to-deploy, easy-to-use, flexible and modular.
"Clinical Force brings a new, different and better approach to CTMS with broad appeal to large clinical development organizations as well as the largely underserved mid-market sponsors and regional CROs," said Tarek Sherif, chairman and CEO of Medidata Solutions, in a statement.
Sherif said that the company's innovative offering strategically enhances the company’s comprehensive SaaS platform, providing further opportunities for the customers to optimize key clinical, financial and operational processes, accelerate time to value and lower clinical development costs.
"By introducing a SaaS-based approach to CTMS, Clinical Force has changed the paradigm for how life science companies adopt and scale state-of-the-art clinical trial management technology within their organization," said Christopher Broderick, CEO of Clinical Force.
Broderick said that joining forces with the leading SaaS clinical technology solutions provider will give the company’s customers access to Medidata's global resources and best-in-class solutions.
Medidata Solutions is a global provider of SaaS clinical development solutions that enhance the efficiency of customers' clinical trials.
Recently, Medidata Solutions announced that South Korean contract research organization (CRO) LSK Global PS has joined Medidata’s ASPire to Win channel partner program for CROs and other service providers.
With this partnership, LSK becomes Medidata’s second Korean partner to offer a full suite of services supporting the Medidata Rave electronic data capture (EDC) and clinical data management (CDM) solution to its clinical research customers.
Founded in 2000, Seoul-based LSK is a full-service CRO focused on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of Korean clinical trials. In preparation for upcoming data management regulations from the Korean Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) expected to go into effect in 2011, LSK joined Medidata’s channel partner program to deliver Rave to sponsors who will be under new pressure to streamline clinical trial processes in Korea.
