Lexicomp Announces Multi-Year Contract with CHP

A multi-year agreement with Catholic Health Partners or CHP has been signed by Lexicomp. Clinicians across 31 hospitals currently operating throughout eight regions in Ohio, Tennessee and Kentucky will be provided Lexicomp’s site-wide drug information solutions. An announcement in this regard has been made by the global provider of clinical information and drug data solutions for healthcare professionals, Lexicomp. Non-profit health system, CHP is the largest health system in Ohio and also one of the largest in the U.S.

Hospital-wide access to the Lexicomp Knowledge Solution will be now given to CHP clinicians. This Solution is a suite of comprehensive drug information databases and clinical modules. Apart from online access, these modules are also accessible on the latest Smartphone/PDA/Tablet devices.

In a release, Alan Mutnick, Corporate Director, Clinical Services, CHP said, “With the continuing increase in our system’s need for quality drug information, both for healthcare professionals as well as the patients we serve, the need to identify the most cost-effective strategy for providing such information becomes critical. I personally believe that Lexicomp fits that bill”.

According to Mutnick, apart from pricing, the switch to Lexicomp has two additional benefits. The most recent “state of the art consensus clinical guidelines” within each drug monograph is now readily available as “hot links”. Lexicomp’s mobile resources are also easily accessible on smartphones, added Mutnick.

The evaluation of Lexicomp by CHP clinicians started in mid-2010. The criteria in selecting new drug information provider were to provide a faster, more concise point-of-care solution to all clinicians. CHP staff chose Lexicomp for its easy-to-use interface, layout and navigation, integration capabilities with their EMR provider and site-wide mobile access.

Steven Kerscher, President and COO, Lexicomp said, “We are pleased to have been selected by Catholic Health Partners as their drug information provider. We are not only honored to have the opportunity to positively affect patient care for more than 250,000 patients admitted to CHP hospitals annually, we are also very happy to be serving the drug information needs of Ohio’s largest health system.”

Kerscher added that the value of supporting regional growth and well-being in order to impact lives on a national scale is understood by Lexicomp.
